Hi! I'm CraftyJayney! To start out, here's my story...
I started cross-stitching in high school, and learned (well, taught myself) to knit in college. After a scarf and some blankets for myself, I started making baby blankets when my twin nephews (Kai and Holden) were born in 2009. In grad school, I made a scarf for my friend Danielle's birthday (so she could have one of her own and stop "stealing" her roommate's scarves). By the end of the week, 3 of her roommates and another of her friends had all asked for a scarf of their own. They were the ones who suggested that I start a shop on Etsy, and after just a little bit of contemplation, CraftyJayney was born. I added cross-stitches to my Etsy shop soon after.
I've cross-stitched birth and wedding announcements, and thanks to an Etsy customer who liked my stitch work, started making Christmas stockings as well (at least, I make the front panel. I don't have a sewing machine of my own...so far the two customers for whom I have made a total of three stockings for were ok with this...). I've also continuted to knit baby blankets and scarves. While I have a standard scarf width and length that I like, I've had requests for super long (12 foot) scarves, and also for smaller child-size scarves, so I am super flexible in terms of what I can make for people.
I'm also a social worker (probably won't talk about that much, due to ethical considerations...) and a nanny/babysitter (which I probably will talk about too much because I love all those kiddos!) as well as a homecook (so if I feel like it I might talk about all that too!). I also watch entirely too much TV, so I apologize in advance for any posts about that! I look forward to sharing with you!
